Meandering Around the Midwest

Leaving Muskegon to take the Fast Cat across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin. We wanted to take the Ludington to Manitowoc ferry, but it broke down in July and is out for the season.

Arrived at my sister and brother in laws home in Wisconsin and enjoyed a few nights by the fire pit.
One of the many "harvests" from my brother in law's" garden. The tiny orange tomatoes were as sweet as grapes!
Then it was time for "Sister's Week". For the past 24 years my three sisters and I have gotten together for a week of fun.( at my old house in Fl). This year we drove to Norton Shores, MI to spend a week by Lake Michigan. Dave was thrilled to be relieved of his annual "pool boy" duties, and spent time with Max.

Beautiful views of the lake
Our daily visit from a family of turkeys!
Our nightly sunset
Stopped to drop off my sister Marie at her house in Chicago and as we sisters sat on the patio "mom" came to visit us!
On the way to a fun outdoor play of The Merry Wives of Windsor ( despite the horrible heat🥵) we made a quick stop at the National Mustard Museum.
How many of you knew that existed?
French's!
Terry and Max picking out some unusual mustards.

Did you know Canada was the world's largest exporter of mustard seeds?
Lots of Amish farms up this way
Took a trip down to Southern Indiana and stayed a few nights at the Belterra Casino on the Ohio River. Only lost $20.
We spent a few evenings in Madison, IN ( my hometown) with our friends, Burke and Marci.
On our way out of town we went to
Williamstown, KY to see the Ark Encounter.
It was big!!
The inside was interesting.
I disagreed with some of their "artistic liberties"  but enjoyed the workmanship.
Then it was on to Indianapolis to visit old college friends.
Great dinner with Bonnie and Tim, Susan and Jim
Then Annie and Ron had us over for a great meal. Lots of fun reminiscing about the good Ole days!
On to Chicago for 2 days and a visit with Matt and Homma. We were able to have a great dinner with them and Homma's parents. Unfortunately  those photos remain on her dad's phone!
The next day we had an AMAZING lunch at The Purple Pig with Matt and Homma.
Finally back to Wisconsin at Terry and Max's house for a few days to get ready to leave for Europe.
Next stop..Venice, Italy.
